A Liturgy Of Sorts…For Pride 2026
To every single person in the LGBTQ+ community:
Today, and every day, I'm proud of you
You are seen, you are safe, you are held, and you are whole
If the church has wounded you, know that the creator does not look on you with disdain, but with adoration
The divine did not make you just to hate you
They do not require you to limit or close off parts of yourself in order to join them in this divine dance in which we all find ourselves
All they require is that you bring your whole, authentic, lovely, fabulous self to the table
That you pull up a chair, fix yourself a plate, and take the seat that is rightfully yours at the feast
And if there isn't a seat for you at the table, those of us already seated will give up our seats
Or better yet, leave the table all together
Because I don't want a seat at any table that doesn't include my LGBTQ+ family
So today, and every single day of the year, but especially today,
Happy PRIDE
May you know that no matter what, you are seen, held, worthy, whole, and enough
And that I will forever stand proudly by your side
